Take in Britain’s grandest canal as you journey between Liverpool and the vibrant Salford Quays.
Mersey Ferries fascinating Manchester Ship Canal Cruise offers you a North West day out to remember. Come aboard with us for a six hour trip that’s as awe inspiring as it is relaxing.
You’ll travel the 35-miles of the canal, enjoying spectacular scenery and a lively commentary along the way. We’ll tell the story of how this
magnificent waterway shaped the city of Manchester and the North West of England; take you through locks and bridges that have remained largely unchanged since their construction over 100 years ago; plus show you some of the region’s most stunning architectural and natural sights.
To make your journey even more enjoyable our licensed bar and servery are available on board, selling refreshments and snacks throughout the cruise.
When it comes to the direction of travel the choice is yours, so start your trip at Salford Quays; or at the opposite end of the route from either our Pier Head (Liverpool), or Seacombe (Wirral) terminals. Once you’ve finished your day of cruising we’ll return to your point of departure by dedicated bus transfer.
On most of our cruises there’s also an additional opportunity to enjoy a 2½ hour stopover before we return you by bus. These stopovers are your chance to visit The Lowry, Imperial War Museum, or Lowry Outlet Mall in Salford Quays; the U-boat Story at Seacombe, with its real German WWII U-534 submarine; or Liverpool’s central attractions and Albert dock.
